About medicines.ie

The information on medicines.ie relates to medicines available in Ireland.

medicines.ie is the most comprehensive source of information on medicinal products available in Ireland and is widely regarded as an invaluable reference source by healthcare professionals and also by the Department of Health & Children and the Irish Medicines Board. The information for each product comes in the form of a summary of product characteristics (SPC), and patient information leaflet (PIL) where relevant, which are approved by the regulatory authority as part of the process of authorising the product for sale or supply in Ireland.

medicines.ie is continuously updated by pharmaceutical companies whenever new products are launched or the information in the SPC or PIL of an existing product changes.

medicines.ie is also published as a CD-ROM.

About the publisher

medicines.ie is published by the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association Ltd. It is entirely funded by the IPHA and its member companies and as such does not accept advertisement and/or promotional information from third parties.

The Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA) represents the international research-based pharmaceutical industry in Ireland. Its member companies include both manufacturers of prescription medicines and non-prescription medicines or consumer healthcare medicines.

The mission of the IPHA is to create a favourable economic, regulatory and political environment, which will enable the research-based pharmaceutical industry in Ireland to meet the growing healthcare needs and expectations of patients.

It aims also to develop an appreciation of the value of medicines, in particular innovative medicines, to healthcare and society as a whole thereby ensuring patients' continued, timely access to the full range of available medicines, regardless of their ability to pay.
